Privacy Policy

Mozant is operated by Contained, Inc. (“Mozant,” “we,” “us”), a Delaware corporation. This policy explains what we collect when you visit our website or participate in our research study, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. Information we collect

Website usage. We use Vercel Analytics to record privacy-friendly aggregated metrics about visits to our site (page views, referrer, country, device class). No cookies are set, no cross-site identifiers are used, and we do not build profiles of individual visitors.

Study signup. When you sign up for the research study, we collect your name, business email, company name, job title, legal team size, and your marketing preferences. These are stored in our research database.

Research responses. If you choose to participate, we collect your answers to the structured research form. The form supports voice input; if you record voice answers, the audio is transcribed and the resulting text is stored with your response. Original audio is retained only for as long as needed for transcription review, then deleted.

Communications. If you email us, we keep the message as part of our correspondence record.

How we use it

We use signup and response data to (a) run the research study, (b) build and ship the private benchmark back to participants, (c) compute anonymized aggregate statistics for the cohort, and (d) email participants about the study. If you opted into research updates, we may also send occasional findings or invitations to future studies. You can unsubscribe at any time.

We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it to train third-party AI models.

Sub-processors

We use a small set of vendors to operate the service. Each is contractually bound to process your data only on our instructions:

• Turso— managed libSQL database hosting our signup and research data. Hosted in the EU (Frankfurt / Ireland region).
• ElevenLabs— speech-to-text transcription for voice form answers. Audio is processed on our behalf and not used to train their models.
• Resend— transactional and research-update email delivery.
• Vercel— website hosting and privacy-friendly aggregated analytics.

Where your data lives

All research and signup data is stored in the EU. If a sub-processor needs to transfer data outside the EU/UK to operate (for example, email routing), we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and the sub-processor's own GDPR commitments to keep the level of protection equivalent.

Cookies and tracking

We do not set advertising cookies or cross-site trackers. Vercel Analytics collects only aggregated, cookie-less metrics. Required functional storage (for example, a future signed-in session) will be disclosed before we use it.

Data security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest at the storage layer. Access to the production database is restricted to a small number of named operators. We follow the principle of least privilege and review access regularly.

Retention

Signup records are kept while you remain interested in the study or for up to 24 months of inactivity, whichever comes first, then deleted. Research responses are retained for the life of the cohort plus 24 months, so we can run longitudinal comparisons. Aggregated and anonymized statistics derived from your responses (the benchmark numbers themselves) may be retained indefinitely once published to the cohort.

Your rights

If you are in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction with similar laws, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct anything that is inaccurate.
• Request deletion of your row and your raw responses.
• Restrict or object to certain uses, including marketing.
• Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these, email legal@mozant.com. When you request deletion, we permanently shred your signup row and your raw research responses. Aggregated benchmark numbers already computed from your inputs cannot be retroactively unbaked, but your individual contribution is gone.

California residents

If you are a California resident, the rights above also satisfy your rights under the CCPA/CPRA: to know what we collect, to delete, to correct, to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” (we do neither), and to non-discrimination for exercising those rights. Children

Mozant is intended for adult professionals working in in-house legal teams. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information, contact legal@mozant.com and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that materially affects how we use your data, we will email participants and update the “Last updated” date above. Minor clarifications get the date bump only.
