Terms of Service

Last updated May 31, 2026

These Terms govern your use of the Mozant website (mozant.com) and participation in our research study. Mozant is operated by Contained, Inc. (“Mozant,” “we,” “us”), a Delaware corporation. By using the site or submitting a research response, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site or submit a response.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the site or participate in the study. By submitting a research response, you represent that you work or have worked inside an in-house legal team and that you are not prohibited by your employer or any agreement from sharing the information you provide.

The website

Site content, including text, graphics, and the Mozant wordmark, is owned by Contained, Inc. and is provided for personal informational use. You may not copy, scrape, or republish substantial portions of the site without our written consent.

The study

The Mozant study is an applied research project mapping how in-house legal teams spend their time. Participation is voluntary. You can withdraw at any time by emailing legal@mozant.com. The research form may collect free-text and voice answers; voice answers are transcribed to text by a third-party processor (see the Privacy Policy) and the resulting text is stored with your response.

Confidential information

Do not submit privileged or confidential information that belongs to your employer, your employer's clients, or any third party. Mozant is a research study run by an outside team; nothing you submit is covered by attorney-client privilege or any duty of confidentiality you owe to a client or employer. Speak in generalities about workflow, tooling, and patterns. Do not paste actual contracts, client names, matter numbers, or other privileged content.

Acceptable use

You agree not to: (a) submit false or misleading information; (b) submit anyone else's personal data without permission; (c) attempt to access the research data of other participants; (d) probe, scan, or attack the site or its infrastructure; (e) use the site or study to send unsolicited communications; or (f) use any automated means to scrape responses.

Your responses and how we use them

You retain ownership of your individual research responses. By submitting them, you grant Contained, Inc. a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use them as follows:

  • Aggregated and anonymized: we can combine your responses with the rest of the cohort to compute the benchmark, including in any future report, product, or research output. Once a number is folded into an aggregate statistic, it cannot be retroactively removed, even if you later withdraw.
  • Direct quotes (anonymized): we will only use a direct quote, even without your name attached, with your explicit prior consent for that quote.
  • Identifiable use: any use of your name, your company, or any combination that could identify you in marketing, case studies, or public material requires separate written approval from you, each time.

The benchmark

Participants in a cohort receive the private benchmark for that cohort. The benchmark is provided as-is, for your internal use. You may share it inside your own organization. You may not republish it externally, sell it, or use it to build a competing benchmark product.

Withdrawal and deletion

You can withdraw your participation at any time. Email legal@mozant.com and we will permanently delete your signup row and the raw text of your research responses. As noted above, aggregated benchmark statistics that already include your inputs cannot be retroactively unbaked.

No legal advice

Nothing on the Mozant site or in the study, the benchmark, or any communication from us is legal advice. We are not your lawyers and no attorney-client relationship is formed by your use of the site or your participation in the study.

Disclaimers

The site, the study form, the benchmark, and any other materials we provide are offered “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Contained, Inc. and its officers, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising from your use of the site, your participation in the study, or your use of the benchmark. Our aggregate liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the study is limited to the greater of one hundred US dollars or the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (currently zero).

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the study will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there. Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable consumer rights you have under the laws of your country of residence.

Changes

We may update these Terms over time. Material changes will be emailed to participants and reflected in the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the site or the study after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
